Pros and cons of our chosen song

Pros:
- The song 'Alarms' has a long opening but can easily be cut down, this opening gives us a chance to build up the narrative in our video and set the scene for the rest of the video.
- As our chosen band are unsigned it means we don't have to worry about the video being taken off of YouTube due to copyright.
- As the song is relatively slow it means we can build up the story with the tempo of the song, slower songs can also work well with a good narrative.
- It is a typical indie song as they have the same set up as most bands (voice, guitar, bass and drums) this makes it a safe choice as we know it will defiantly fit with our chosen genre of Indie.
- The lyrics aren't about anything really obvious the whole way through so it gives us scope to do what we feel is best with the video.
- We were stuck between two songs by the band Pilots, but this one was chosen through a class vote which shows it is the preferred song to our target audience.

Cons:
- The intro to the song is quite long so would need to be cut down or if kept the song is over 4 minutes long.
- It being a long song means we need to keep the video interesting throughout as people could loose interest halfway through if not much is happening and it is a bit boring.
- The song has quite a slow tempo and is not very upbeat which means we can't use many quick cuts and fast movements as they wouldn't fit with the song.

Reasons why we chose this song:
From comparing the pros and cons i can see the pros of this song outweigh the cons and make it the better choice. When deciding between two songs we had a class vote, as the people in our class are the age of our target audience it means what they prefer is what our target audience would prefer. When we started to think of ideas for videos, the ideas we came up with fitted better with the song alarms rather than the other song we had been considering. We also had more imaginative and interesting ideas for the song alarms.
